WTA INDIAN WELLS BETTING PREVIEW
ONS JABEUR vs DANIELLE COLLINS
Ons Jabeur is a solid 45/17 YTD. She’s made the final of three tournaments and won one of them on the grass of Birmingham. When things go right the 27-year-old is a talented player!
However, Jabeur has a few quirks, and one of them is her inability to go deep at the right tournaments! When we consider Jabeur’s rank (14) and 10 years on tour, prize money of just $2.6M is a paltry figure. While we like watching the Tunisian, we are of the opinion that Jabeur is an underachiever.
Betting in-play is always a good tactic with Jabeur matches! Her body speaks volumes, and it doesn’t take long to figure out her expected performance.
Jabeur made heavy weather of beating last round opponent Anastasija Sevastova. Normally, she starts tournaments quickly, but that was a laboured win!
Danielle Collins won her only head-to-head with Jabeur. Moreover, that was at this year’s French Open and played on a surface that favoured her opponent. While Collins is capable on clay, her best performances came on hard courts. In fact, the American is 23/9 on this surface, and earlier this year she won a tournament in San Jose.
As it stands, Collins is (25) just two ranking places below her career-best. For the record, her career prize money is $400K more than Jabeur, and she played half the amount of matches.
The fiery Collins is having a great year, and in July/August she won back-to-back tournaments. Furthermore, she’s beaten many top players, including Halep, Rybakina, Barty, Pliskova, and Mertens.
While she will never be a crowd favourite, Collins is in the zone and good to go!
