Yesterday wasn’t meant to be! At some stage we thought we were going to win each and every bet, but only Paula Badosa Gibert delivered. That is part of the deal if you are betting WTA, but it’s ok when we know it’s just a temporary set-back. We plan on taking no prisoners today, so if you want to get on-board, here it is:
WTA BOGOTA BETTING PREVIEW
TEREZA MARTINCOVA vs MARIA CAMILA OSORIO SERRANO
Tereza Martincova is having a good (16/7) year to date, albeit most of the Czech players wins came in qualifications. With that said, she did at least manage to get the better of Kiki Bertens and Kristina Pliskova in Dubai.
With regards to current tournament form, in the first round the 26 year old needed three sets to get past Leonie Kung. What Martincova did was nothing special, and it should be noted that this is her worst surface.
For the record, Martincova is just 55.6% on clay. From looking through her profile, her best effort was to make a semi-final at last years Istanbul.
This round opponent is Maria Camila Osorio Serrano, a local player who is 72/31 on this surface. In the first round here, the 19 year old beat (6/2 6/3) Sachia Vickery with relative ease.
MCOS recently beat the likes of Harriet Dart, and Caroline Dolehide on hard court, suggesting she’s ready for WTA. Furthermore, back in 2020 she made a semi final of H Saint Malo, and to do that Parmentier and Clara Burel where amongst the scalps she claimed. In the next round, only the very much improved Podoroska stopped her!
By all intent and purpose, Maria Camila Osorio Serrano has already shown enough. She’s got home advantage, and a progressive profile. That comfortable first round win should give even more confidence, and her odds are value!
