Avoid these Bookmakers! There are many crappy and undependable bookmakers, so be diligent when opening betting accounts. No doubt, you would have heard the saying, if it looks too good to be true it probably is not.
Some bookmakers who are prominent on the comparison site https://oddsportal.com are not what you would like them to be. In this article, we point out those who have hidden rules and are bad payers. If you are comparing odds of little known bookmakers, check for reputation issues.
European focused bookmakers we would recommend avoiding :
1XBET – WARNING – AVOID THESE BOOKMAKERS
Russian/Israeli owned! They often have the best odds on the market, but a terrible reputation. Betting accounts are closed and limited quickly, and trying to get a paid out is a hazardous chore. 1XBET is black-listed on https://www.sportsbookreview.com and many other websites! While it is easy to understand why arbitrage players want a betting account, where is the point? The only customers who get paid from this outfit are losing ones.
PLANETWIN365 – WARNING – AVOID THESE BOOKMAKERS
In November 2018, more than 60 former and existing board members of Planetwin365 were charged with Italy’s biggest money-laundering operation ever! Amongst those arrested where four founders of the company. The word Mafia is relative because, for us, bookmakers who cheat customers are just the same. Over the last two years, we have received many ‘’no pay’’ reports for this company, and at the time of writing we know several chasing payments for months.
INTERWETTEN – WARNING – AVOID THESE BOOKMAKERS
Many Austrian found betting companies are difficult payers. If you are losing money to these Maltese licensed companies, sure they will pay. However, if you have not left a chunk behind, getting paid is a real challenge. Despite being around for over 25 years, Interwetten has a terrible reputation. A look through rules & regulations should be enough to stop anyone opening a betting account with this devious company.
BWIN – WARNING – AVOID THESE BOOKMAKERS
This company was founded by Manfred Bodner & Norbert Teufelberger in 1997. Award yourself 10 points for guessing they are Austrian! What Bwin did well was software, and at one stage they were well ahead of the competition. However, reputation is the most aspect of online betting, and boy did this lot shoot themselves in the foot. Anyone who got close to winning would have their account stopped, and over the years they have earned the reputation has poor losers. While Bwin is part of GVC holdings, they still do not understand poor customer service held them back!
BET-AT-HOME – AVOID THESE BOOKMAKERS
Bet-at-home is the number one for cheating customers! Not much changed, this Austrian founded company is an absolute disgrace! Founders Jochen Dickinger and Franz Ömer are still at the helm, and I never trusted either. Name it these guys have such a horrible reputation for honouring winners. Voiding bets, changing odds, and slow or no pay is standard practice, while customer support is the worst ever! As with all these unhonourable bookmakers, if you are a proven loser they pay!
TEMPOBET – WARNING – AVOID THESE BOOKMAKERS
This bookmaker specialises on taking bets from residents in countries where betting is not allowed, and then refuse to pay winnings. Tempobet lures unsuspecting customers with what appears to be a fantastic betting offer, but it is bullshit! Here is part of a mail our customer received; We design our services and betting offers for recreational betting and gaming. We do not accept arbitrage or matched betting, and such actions are subject to our General Terms and Conditions.
TONYBET – AVOID THESE BOOKMAKERS
In some quarters we are told Tonybet is improving. While we and far from convinced, this Estonian outfit can only get better. In the not so distant past Tonybet cancelled winning bets, and reversed bonus payments. Slow and no pay was standard, and support insulted everyone asking for money. We prefer to discourage anyone from opening an account because you are not sure to get paid!
Compare the betting program with Tipico, and then you will understand who is behind this company. Rivalo was set-up with a soft license in Curacao for unregulated markets. This practice of getting a 2nd license for countries where it is illegal to bet is standard. The process of getting paid from Rivalo is tedious, and this bookmaker is only for the very desperate.
Goldbet have always had a reputation for being difficult, hardly surprising for an Austrian founded company. Gamenet S.p.A. acquired the operation back in 2018, and maybe they have improved a little since. However, this Malta-licensed operator is a big headache for online betting. Trying to get paid winnings is something else, and they are not worth the stress!
Israeli run company! Biggest scam I have ever come across was one of the emails we received. Customer support never answer emails, and online chat is always disabled. Newbies are getting locked out for winning, and they are known for taking over a month to pay. From what we understand lots and lots of complaints going into the UKGC, but nobody is listening!
They have a UK betting license, and they sponsor a bunch of teams. However, in our opinion, Dafabet is the biggest crook out there. We have witnessed this company reneging on payments first hand, and we strongly advise everyone to stay away. The main markets for Dafabet are China and Vietnam, and both are illegal. Suffice to say, with no recourse to the courts Dafabet can do what they want with customers. Even in the UK, this outfit will look for ways out of paying, stay away!
WARNING – NOTES FROM EDITOR
Most European bookmakers suffer from a superiority complex and believe customers should simply lose. Fortunately for them, the majority do just that. However, win, lose, or draw, there is nothing worse than a bookmaker who reneges on paying. Fortunately, most bookmakers pay before limiting or closing winning accounts.
What we can tell you is not to expect much help from gaming authorities. The UKGC and MGA (Malta) are tax generators and not customer support. If the bookmaker is in the UK, take them to court if they do not honour genuine paying genuine winnings.
PS; If you see bookmakers mentioned above receiving a positive review from a 3rd party betting website, you can be sure that they have a vested interest. Click the link and watch the affiliate number appear in the URL. And, understand the website owner is on revenue share from your losses!
